Angelo Colarossi by Julia Margaret Cameron 1867

Angelo Colarossi was the studio boy/assistant to the sculptor Alfred Gilbert (1854-1934) and,
aged 15, modelled for Gilbert's most famous statue 'Anderos' (1891) in Piccadilly Circus.

  1. Julia Margaret Cameron's model (not everyone agrees with the identification, however) was the father of the Eros model. Anderos should be spelled 'Anteros'.
