It's a fact! Margaretha Geertruida "M'greet" Zelle McLeod, better known by the stage name Mata Hari, was a Dutch exotic dancer, courtesan, and accused spy who was executed by firing squad in France under charges of espionage for Germany during World War I. She was executed without absolute proof. A soldier was quoted as saying she was the bravest soldier he had ever met. She stood tall in front of the firing squad, never cried, refused a blindfold and blew them all a kiss before she died. German documents unsealed later in the 1970s proved that Mata Hari was truly a German agent.
