It wouldn't surprise me if it were real. They tried a lot of weird things back then...looks like they tried to build an elevated train track, and it was a colossal failure.
Doc Brown's first attempt at converting the steam locomotive engine into a time machine was indeed disastrous, he neglected once again to account for future construction placing buildings in his path in 1940. the incident of course led him to make another trip to the distant future whereupon he paid the same gentleman who converted the Delorean to flight capability, to thus perform the very same conversion on his locomotive transport. The gentleman was however none too pleased when he realized later that his eccentric repeat customer Mr. Brown had paid him with a dubious check that whereupon looking up the Bank only found an ancient news article explaining that said Bank no longer existed seeing as how so very long ago they closed due to an unfortunate freak train accident in 1940...BRILLIANT!!
To Carol: Yes, its a real train wreck, and if you click the link just below the pictures for more info you see that 5 people on the train got hurt and one woman who was passing in the street was killed.

ReplyDeleteAnother epic fail by the Coyote as he once again tried to catch that pesky Road Runner (beep beep).
ReplyDeleteDoc Brown hadn't perfected his flying train time machine yet and the flux capacitor went wonky.
ReplyDeleteTime travel gone wrong??? At least the era was wrong to blame it on a woman driver!!!
ReplyDeleteDoc Brown's Fourth of July party.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't remember the story on the Montparnasse Derailment, looked it up again. It was American brakes that failed.
Slightly too big for an ornament on the mantelpiece... feel off, hence ditching into the main thoroughfair
